This medicine contains local action antacids . They work by neutralizing the acids secreted by the stomach. It is used in the treatment of heartburn and heartburn.

This class of antacid will neutralize stomach acid.

• baking soda (NaHCO3), this preparation on sale in the form of a sachet prepared in pharmacies should not be used too much , as it can cause bloating and hypertension. A risk of "rebound", i.e. an increase in acidity over time, may be associated with this preparation.
• calcium carbonate (CaCO3), active ingredient of the drug *Rennie®, not to be used for too long, beware of the risk of hypercalcemia.

USAGE:

The usual dose per 24 hours is:

• 1 to 2 tablets at the time of pain related to heartburn, i.e. 4 to 8 tablets per day.
• In case of more intense pain, the dosage may be increased, for a short period, to 12 tablets per day.

The duration of treatment is limited to 10 days.

COMPOSITIONS:

• Calcium carbonate: 680mg
• Heavy magnesium carbonate: 80 mg

For a chewable tablet.

Excipients : Sucrose, pregelatinized corn starch, potato starch, talc, magnesium stearate, light liquid paraffin, orange flavor (essential oil of orange, maltodextrin, water), sodium saccharin.

PRECAUTION for use with RENNIE ORANGE BAYER WITHOUT SUGAR

In the event of persistence of the disorders beyond 10 days of treatment or aggravation of the disorders (heartburn), an etiological search must be carried out and the action to be taken reassessed.

• This medicinal product should not be used as a cure to treat heartburn lasting more than 10 days: adverse effects have been observed when combined with thiazide diuretics or in patients taking large quantities of milk or products. milk, especially during prolonged treatment.
• If one is led to exceed 4 to 8 tablets per day, this treatment for heartburn should be of short duration, should not be continued after the disappearance of symptoms and should not exceed 12 tablets per day.
• This medicinal product contains 475 mg of sucrose per tablet: take this into account in the daily ration.

Side effects :

• Linked to magnesium: possibility of diarrhea at high doses.
• Related to calcium (272 mg per tablet): in prolonged use at high doses, possible occurrence of hypercalcemia, risk of nephrolithiasis and renal failure.
